Subjects: circle of fifth, scales, intervals, chords, chord symbols, voicing, music theory, functions of the chords, ear training, play from a lead sheet.

Entry qualifications: you should be able to read music, and be an intermediate musician - not for absolute beginners

Jazz & Pop Arrangement for Bands

Subjects: harmonic arrangement, improvisation scale theory, bass lines, ear training, lead sheet & ensemble. The main questions are: How do i get nice voicing & left-hand patterns? How do I find good lines (melodie, improvisation lines, bass lines...) corresponding to the chords? How can I make the given chords more sophisticated? Standard chord progressions/ How can chords be combined to achieve a desired sound/ How can chords be connected? ...

Entry qualifications: you should be able to read music, be an intermediate musician (not for absolute beginners), have knowledge about  intervals, circle of fifth,  chords (symbols), function of the chords, II V I-progressions, cadences, chords on the seven steps of a scale, voicing, lead sheet play, improvisation.

Jazz & Pop Arrangement 2

Subjects: harmonic arrangement,  arrangement, composition, application of scales, rhythmics, ear training, ensemble situation.

Entry qualifications: improvisation, have knowledge about harmonic arrangement, linear chord progressions, suspended, passing and substitute chords, scale theory

Music & Audio Engineering Workshop

Subjects: midi, hard disk recording, microphones, using of equalizers, compressors, ... post-production.

 

Live Playing Workshop I (for beginners playing in bands)

Subjects: pop, soul, blues, fusion  & jazz standards, role allocation in the band, interaction, voicing, improvisation, practise, groove design, ...

Entry qualifications: you should be able to read music, and be an intermediate musician, (not for absolute beginners), drummers should play different basic rhythms, knowledge about intervals, circle of fifths,  chords (symbols), function of the chords, knowledge about  II V I-progressions, chords on the seven steps of a scale, voicing, leadsheetplay, improvisation.

 

Liveplaying Workshop II (for advanced)

Subjects: pop, soul, blues, fusion  & jazz standards, role allocation in the band, interaction, voicing, improvisation, practise, groove design, ...

Entry qualifications: you should be able to read music, be an intermediate musician (not for absolute beginners) drummers should play different basic rhythms, knowledge about  intervals, circle of fifth,  chords (symbols), function of the chords, knowledge about  II V I-progressions, chords on the seven steps of a scale, voicing, lead sheet play, improvisation.

 

COMBI-SOLUTIONS

Piano lessons (every 2 weeks) can be taken alternating with a course (every 2 weeks).
At the end of the course the piano lessons continue with the normal conditions.
